Musikalisk helg som gav idéer / A musical weekend that gave me ideas

Den här helgen har bara bestått av musik! I går spelade jag på ett café. Det var ganska mysigt, men det fina vädret gjorde att folk helst satt utomhus. Så efter att ha spelat inomhus ett tag flyttade jag ut. Mitt i att jag spelade där ute fick jag se en hund som satt i dörröppningen. Det såg ut som om den satt och lyssnade... Efteråt träffade jag ett antal barn som skulle på födelsedagskalas. Då fick jag idén att jag kanske skulle öva in ett program med barnsånger och åka ut och sjunga med / för barn på kalas o.dyl. Vi får se om jag kan komma fram till ett bra koncept för det!
I dag var det öppen scen på Kulturföreningen Tellus här i Stockholm. Där var det fullt med folk och många som ville spela. Det är en väldigt stödjande och tillåtande miljö och jag fick bra respons från publiken. Men jag märker att det blir jobbigare när jag också har en mikrofon att hålla reda på, och ett stort plus är om jag kan ha ögonkontakt med publiken. Ett akustiskt piano är ofta så stort och står så att detta inte är möjligt. Men när jag kommer till replokalen jag hyr igen, där det finns både akustiskt piano och mikrofoner, skall jag börja öva med en mikrofon framför mig (som ju inte behöver vara inkopplad).
Har nu två projekt framför mig jag skulle vilja genomföra, bara jag ser att det går bra med den CD jag just gjort... Det ena är, som jag nämnt tidigare, att spela in mina "Viola Moments". Det andra är att göra en CD helt på svenska. Har några låtar på svenska som kanske bara behöver putsas lite, ytterligare ett par låtar som är på engelska i dag men som jag funderar på att översätta, och lite material till nya låtar.
Men för att orka med allt detta är det väl bäst att sova också.... zzzzzzzzzz....

This weekend has only consisted of music! Yesterday I played at a café. It was quite cosy, but the beautiful weather made people prefer to sit outdoors. So after having played indoors for a while, I moved out. In the middle of my playing out there I saw a dog sitting in the door opening. It looked like it was sitting listening... Afterwards I met a number of children going to a birthday party. Then I got the idea that maybe I should rehearse a program of children's songs and go out to sing with / for children at parties etc. Let's see if I can come up with a good concept for that!
Today there was an open stage at Kulturföreningen Tellus here in Stockholm. The place was full of people and many who wanted to play. It's a very supportive and accepting environment and I got good response from the audience. But I notice it's harder when I also have a microphone to keep track of, and a big plus is if I can have eye contact with the audience. An acoustic piano is often so big and stands in a way that this isn't possible. But when I come to the rehearsal room that I rent again, where there is an acoustic piano as well as microphones, I'll start practising with a microphone in front of me (which doesn't need to be connected).
Now I have two projects in front of me that I'd love to undertake, if only I see that everything goes well with the CD I've just done... One is, like I mentioned earlier, to record my "Viola Moments". The other is to make a CD entirely in Swedish. I have some songs in Swedish that might just need to be polished a little, yet a couple of songs which are in English today but I consider translating them, and some material for new songs.
But to manage all this I reckon it's best to get some sleep too... zzzzzzzzz.....
